We keep this short and in plain English, because a privacy policy you can't read isn't much of a policy.
Who we are
Greater Detroit IT is the trading name of Greater Detroit IT & Network Specialists LLC, a limited liability company registered in the State of Michigan and based in Livonia. Where this policy says "we" or "us," that means the company.
This policy covers our website and the information you choose to send us. If you're an existing client, the work we perform on your systems is governed by your service agreement rather than this page.
What we collect
This website has no forms, no accounts, and no sign-ups. There is nothing on it for you to fill in, so simply reading these pages hands us nothing about you.
We only hold what you choose to send us directly. If you call the number on this site, or email the address on it, then we have whatever you told us in that call or message — and nothing beyond it.
We don't ask for payment details, account passwords, or any other sensitive information through this website, and you should never send those to us by email. If we need that kind of information to do work for you, we'll arrange a secure way to handle it.
We don't run analytics or advertising trackers on this site. There are no tracking pixels, no advertising cookies, and no third-party marketing scripts. We don't set any cookies of our own, and we don't build a profile of who visits.
What we do with it
We use what you send us to answer your question, quote your work, and follow up about it. That's the whole list. We do not sell, rent, or trade your information, and we don't add you to a marketing list because you filled out a contact form.
Who else sees it
A few third parties are involved in running this website, and it's only fair to name them:
- Google Fonts serves the typefaces used on this site. Because your browser requests those files from Google's servers, Google receives your IP address when you load a page here.
- Our email and hosting providers store and deliver the messages you send us, the same way they would any other email.
Links to Google Maps and Facebook appear on this site. Once you follow one, you're on their platform and their privacy policy applies, not ours.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries for as long as it takes to respond and, if you become a client, for as long as we're working together plus whatever period our accounting and tax obligations require. If a conversation goes nowhere, we're happy to delete it on request.
Your choices
Email us at Areed@Greaterdetroitit.com and we will tell you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. You don't need to give a reason, and we won't charge you for it. If you've asked us to stop contacting you, we'll stop.
Keeping it safe
We take reasonable steps to protect the information you send us, including keeping our own systems patched and access-controlled — the same things we'd tell you to do. No method of transmitting information over the internet is completely secure, though, and we won't pretend otherwise.
Children
This website is aimed at homeowners and business owners, not children. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has sent us something, contact us and we'll remove it.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your information, we'll update this page and change the date at the top. Material changes will be obvious rather than buried.
